Synopsis: The book of Daniel is a prophetic book in that it chronicles the rise and fall of four, one world empires, and the fall of the physical nation of Israel before these events actually happened. The first six chapters explain how Daniel came to be living in Babylon and how his faith in God made him victorious over the idols of this pagan nation, bringing him into favor with the kings ruling Babylon. The last six chapters contain four visions and their interpretations, along with a specific description of historical facts that can only be understood in this present day by looking back at the events of history. The book of Daniel was to be sealed up until the end of the prophecies as without recorded history, much of the prophecies could not be understood.
